Hugh Jones EnterprisesHugh Jones, MWF, MEd, has been in the spa & fitness industry for 41 years and has successfully directed spa programs in several 5-star hotels, resorts and planned communities. Hugh has been involved with spa design and development in over 80 successful national & international projects in Switzerland, Canada, USA & New Zealand. He began his career in 1981 at the world famous spa at Palm-Aire, Pompano Beach, Florida. Hugh later moved to the Bonaventure InterContinental Hotel & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, where he was recruited by Turnberry Isle Yacht & Country Club in Aventura, and was named “Manager of the Year.” During that time, Turnberry was rated “Number 1 resort in the U.S.” by Lodging and Hospitality. Following the successful opening of the P.G.A Spa in West Palm Beach, Florida, Hugh was Vice President for M.C.M. International, a spa consulting & management company.
Hugh has completed Wellness Spa projects for Canadian Pacific Resorts in Banff, Alberta, Canada; Buena Vista Palace in Orlando, Florida; and Melia Resort in Cancun, Mexico. In 1995, Hugh managed the transition and integration of the Saturnia Spa at Doral, Doral Golf Resort in Miami, Florida. In 1997, Hugh was appointed General Manager of Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida and in 1999 it was voted “Number 1 in Medical Health Resorts” by Spa Management. As a faculty member of Academy of Esthetics and Spa Therapies, he has conducted Spa Manager Certification program courses. Hugh is on the board of directors of the Florida College of Natural Health and Adjunct Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University at Fort Myers, Florida. He also holds a M.Ed. degree in Exercise Science from the University of Western Carolina. Hugh has published several articles for Spa Management, recruiting, training and managing spa staff teams.
